our leaders

A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” Irrespective of how you define a leader, he or she can prove to be a difference maker between success and failure. A good leader has a futuristic vision and knows how to turn his or her ideas into real-world success stories. We expect all our leaders to have a high level of honesty, and integrity, confidence and inspiration.. They must be godly, committed and passionate about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Men and women who have decision making capabilities and who are accountable and capable of communicating well, delegation and decision making. Creativity, Innovation and empathy must be their forte.

Rev. Marion Markwei

Marion as our leading pastor is a graduate of Spurgeon’s college, who has a genuine spirit for growth and helping others. She was called into ministry at New Life Christian Community (Temple Hill Baptist Church) in July 2008.

Born and raised in Sierra Leone, a country which she had to flee from due to a war which took the life of her husband and two sisters and left her with a disability. She fled to Guinea and was offered  safe passage to Sweden where she lived until she moved to the UK in 2007 to continue studying theology.

Her main vision is “building a diverse church that is united by a common desire for God’s love through the Holy Spirit” and therefore is committed to making the bible speak and demonstrating the relevance of God’s word in today’s church and society.

deacons

The Deacons or Trustees are men and women who serve administratively in the church. They must be anointed and full of the Holy Spirit to serve in the House of God. Historically seven people were anointed to serve in this role. Acts 6: 1-6 “..Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom.

We will turn this responsibility over to them for serving tables and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”

This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism. They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.”

Trustees of NLCC

NLCC charity trustees play a very important role in making sure that the charity is run in the interests of the people it is there to support. They strategically oversee the management and administration of the organisation. Our trustees ensure that NLCC has a clear strategy, and that its work and goals are in line with its vision. A trustee's role in a charity is to be the ‘guardians of purpose’, making sure that all decisions put the needs of the beneficiaries first. They safeguard the charity’s assets – both physical assets, including property, and intangible ones, such as its reputation. They make sure these are used well and that the charity is run sustainably. . Our trustee board meets four times a year to pray and strategically align our programs with the vision
